Dreams To Do

About

My name is Ariel and I’m a perpetual dreamer who is on a life mission to become more of a doer. I started this blog a few years ago when I found myself feeling uninspired at my dull, 40-hour-per-week job and struggling at home as a new momma. I wanted to step out of my comfort zone a bit and challenge myself to stop wishing I could do all sorts of cool things and actually take some action. Today I’m a busy stay-at-home mom of three (Leila, Landon, & Roman) who no longer feels like I don’t have control of my life and happiness. I want nothing more than to inspire others to feel this way. Life is so much better when you are doing what makes you HAPPY. And, I’ve quickly learned that “me time” translates to happier “we time.” In other words, when mommy is happy, everyone is happy. 😉

What you will find on this here blog…

  • Random bits of inspiration
  • Lots of pretty photos
  • My deep thoughts
  • Cute kids
  • Some DIY, food, & fun
  • A whole lotta honesty
  • And hopefully that little push you need to take the step from dreaming to actually doing!

A little bit more about me…

I’m a small town gal, born and raised in the mountains of the Pacific Northwest (literally up on a mountain on 160 acres with the closest neighbor a mile away). I went off to college with no clue as to my place in this world – yeah, sure I had “dreams” (i.e. who doesn’t wanna become rich and famous someday?), but nothing I could really put my finger on. Soooooo, I got my degree in psychology (it interested me so why not?), landed a job in the Sales/Marketing department at a local TV station (yes, completely unrelated to my degree), and then married Andy, my high school sweatheart and the cliche love of my life in 2008. In 2009 we welcomed our beautiful daughter, Leila Jade, into this world. After a short, but oh-so-sweet maternity leave, I returned to work full-time while my hubby finished up school. Fast forward a couple of years… in fall 2011 I gave birth to our 2nd child, Landon Drew and once again, after a short, but oh-so-sweet maternity leave, I returned to the same job that kept me busy and payed the bills, but didn’t really fulfill me. It was the birth of my third child in 2014, my second son, Roman, who finally convinced me to take a leap of faith and try out the stay-at-home mom gig. So here I am now. A wife, a mother, a perpetual dreamer and multipotentialite who enjoys writing, dabbling in photography and graphic design, unwinding to a good reality TV show in the evening, and making the most out of this precious life I’ve been given.
