Super Sunday
Going into this past weekend I was a little bit sad, actually. I came home from work on Friday after hearing about everyone’s game-day plans and whined to the hubby about not wanting him to work – about how I was sad that I had no plans for Super Bowl Sunday. No big party invites. No friends or family coming over. Nada. I don’t even like football, so I’m not quite sure why I cared. I just did.
By the time today rolled around, I had completely forgotten about the “big game” until I found myself in a VERY crowded grocery store with two silly kids in my shopping cart. We had big plans to make chocolate chip cookies, but ended up leaving the store with a surplus of nacho ingredients as well. So what if it was just me and the kiddos alone (once again) on Super Bowl Sunday – we were going to make the most of it! And that, we did.
Leila & I practiced our photography skills as the game got going…

Within 5 minutes of kick-off we were bored out of our minds so we ventured into cookie making…

Note: my daughter is obsessed with wearing her swimsuits whenever we are home. Whatever floats her boat…

After stuffing our faces with cookie dough, we returned to the game…

Landon was totally into it. Future linebacker…

Other highlights from our Super Bowl Sunday included a trio dance party during Beyonce’s half time show and stuffing our faces with nachos when daddy got home from work at 7:15pm – just in time to watch the last 5 exciting minutes of the game!
All day today I just felt SO blessed. Blessed to be the mom of two precious, little human beings who continue to challenge me and entertain me each and every day. And blessed to be the wife of a hard-working man who has had to miss out on 3 consecutive Super Bowls for work (sorry babe!). What did I do to deserve them? Sure, I may not have a rockin’ social life, but I wouldn’t change a thing.
